Hi Mark,
Thank you for a tremendous weekend adventure.
Everybody has been raving about the experience and I think overall it was a great initiative for us to take part in.
From a feedback point of view I think you can put the following feathers in your cap:
- Your team is very organised while also being laid back and friendly. Everyone feels part of the “family” event! I see your strong family and moral values shine through in the way you chaps do things.
- Your guides are top draw. They never tired of waiting for the slow chaps, never left anyone behind, never got flustered by accidents and breakdowns and kept a wonderful sense of humour the whole way through. Jono is great with people and ripped off everyone sparing no one, which we all found very amusing. Stu was great and managed to keep his nose in front the whole way. Great guys.
- Water tables and lunches were perfect, not too overpowering on the system and just long enough to give everyone decent recovery time.
- The trails were great. If I were to change anything for next time, I think it would be skipping the Dustbin Hill in favour of the district escape route from lake Eland as that Hill is not really ride able (for mere mortals like myself). Its also a pity that you can’t commandeer that nature reserve route in place of Gamalakhe as after so much pristine beauty, it is a little bit of a rude wake up to encounter all the litter etc that is part of the African township scene. Overall, really great riding though and must be a huge undertaking to keep it all in shape.
- Bike washes at the end of day two were a real treat and I am sure that if you did this after the last day, No one would bat an eyelid at paying your guys R30 a pop for a wash.
Once again thanks for organizing the whole thing, we really enjoyed it and I am sure we will be back for more, perhaps even the Pondo Pedal.
Regards
Brett
